Spain Won the FIFA World Cup 2026
FIFA’s official tournament reporting confirms the final result and closes the biggest World Cup format to date.
Spain 1–0 Argentina after extra time. The final was played at New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday, 19 July 2026. Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in the 106th minute, giving Spain its second men’s World Cup title.
The 2026 edition expanded to 48 teams and 104 matches across 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico and the United States. That makes older pre-tournament references to 80 matches obsolete and worth correcting wherever they still appear on a website.
